Проф. д-р Burçak Yılmaz е специалист по нуклеарна медицина с насоченост към радионуклидните терапии, образната диагностика и разчитането на PET-CT и PET-MRI, както и конвенционалната нуклеарномедицинска образна диагностика, включително SPECT/CT и изследвания с гама камера. Тя завършва като първенец на випуска в Bahçeşehir College, след което завършва медицинското си образование и специализацията си в Катедрата по нуклеарна медицина на Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, където по-късно получава докторска степен по нуклеарна медицина, а впоследствие започва и втори докторат по молекулярна онкология в University of Health Sciences. Професионалният ѝ път включва наблюдателна програма в University of Washington и следдокторска стипендия в Oregon Health and Science University, както и академични и специалистски позиции в няколко турски институции, свързани с University of Health Sciences и Medipol University, преди да се присъедини към Biruni University Faculty of Medicine Hospital като доцент.
